Spring Summer 2026 takes inspiration from another star in Max Mara’s pantheon of remarkable women. The power and intelligence of Madame De Pompadour, the Queen of Rococo, inhabits the spirit of the season. Her verve is at the heart of this new world of contrasts defined by rigorous detailing with an underlying hint of otherworldliness.

Stars of this show include a voluminous crest tracing contours on an otherwise strict pencil skirt, an organza skirt is made up of hundreds of cut and folded pieces like the petals of an exotic hothouse bloom; a snappy trench is transformed into an elemental statement like the plumage of a fantastical bird.  And impeccably tailored jackets, low slung pants, elastic belts and straps reveal an intrinsic rationale as sharp as Mme de Pompadour’s own wit.  The essence of Rococo's inspiration, drawn from nature, is found in prints delicately painted on layers of ethereal organza. Max Mara creates in this collection a surprising balance between past and present.
